THIS SOLD-OUT LIVE CONCERT EVENT BRINGS BACK PRE-PANDEMIC MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT

For a little over a year now, the performing arts industry has been disabled due to the impacts brought on by Covid-19/Coronavirus. With twenty-five percent of the US population now inoculated with a vaccine to combat the virus, things are starting to return to some normalcy that we are accustomed to.

Bands and musicians are starting to hit the road and test the waters of touring again. Socially distanced seating, temperature checks, and mask wearing are the new normal and a sacrifice that we must make to see our favorite performers in their element, a sacrifice that many will be glad to make for the return to live music performances.

One of the first major bands to step out and hit the road in 2021 is Sister Hazel. This show is at the Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach and is sold out. The set-up here is very interesting. The seating is set-up with pods that have seating for up to four people and the pods, from side to side, are about twelve feet apart allowing for more that appropriate social distancing.

The band takes the stage at 9:00 pm after Coral Springs local Jesse Young performed selections from his new album “Heart Of Me”. Sister Hazel opens the live set with “Change Your Mind” and the crowd jumps to their feet in a roar that I have not heard in quite a while. It was a bit weird being at a liuve concert event after being away from I for so long. Cheering crowds and hands in the air is something that we have taken for granted since this pandemic started and made me kind of emotional to see again. To me, this signals the return back to life as we knew it.

“Your Mistake”, “That Kind Of Beautiful”, and “Your Winter” came soon after. The musicianship and vocals were so on-point for one of their first shows back and this tells me that it can only get better moving forward. One of the highlights for me was the solo piano performance of “This Kind Of Love’.

Many other Sister Hazel performances are scheduled now throughout the summer and beyond. To see if and when Sister Hazel will be in your area, log on to the bands website at http://www.sisterhazel.com.
