Joe Bonamassa in Concert

Updated: Feb 21, 2019

Killer Joe Slays Three-In-A-Row At Broward Center For The Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale

Not even a teenager yet, a very young Joe Bonamassa turned the heads of blues fans and music industry professionals when legendary singer /guitarist B.B. King invited Joe to play with him. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, Joe Bonamassa is a bona fide legend himself, playing to sold-out venues everyday and keeping the blues alive for a new generation of music lovers. Bonamassa recently played three sold-out shows at the Broward Center for The Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Rockbandreviews.com had the privilege to attend the opening-night performance and to see first-hand the amazing guitar virtuoso in action.

Dressed in his trademark suit, sunglasses, and slicked-back hair, Bonamassa took to the stage and tore into the Muddy Waters classic “Tiger In Your Tank”, followed by “ King Bee”, and “Evil Momma”. The crowd erupted with cheers and applause after the triple-threat music set. The tone had been set and we all knew that we were in for one hell of a ride.

It is easy to see why Bonamassa sell-out venues. The control, speed, and dexterity that he possesses is unlike any other. Besides being a great player, he is also a great singer and songwriter. Bonamassa continued to play songs like “Crossfire”, “Boogie Woogie Woman”, and “Last Kiss:. Bonamassa finished the night with the encores “Well Well” and “Mountain Time”.

The last number was followed by a standing ovation from this excited and energized crowd. Some have been here with Bonamassa before, and some have just experienced their first live audible interaction with this legend tonight. Either way… I know that they will be back for more.
