Born in Los Angeles, California, Ondrasik developed a love for music at a young age. He grew up listening to artists like Elton John, Billy Joel, and The Beatles, and it wasn't long before he started crafting his own songs. Ondrasik attended UCLA, where he played piano and sang in a student band. After graduation, he started pursuing a solo career, playing in clubs around Los Angeles.


In 1997, Ondrasik signed with the record label EMI, and his debut album, "Message for Albert," was released the following year under his given name. The album received positive reviews and caught the attention of music critics, but it wasn't until Ondrasik adopted the stage name "Five For Fighting" that he gained mainstream success.





In 2000, Five For Fighting released their breakthrough album, "America Town," which featured the chart-topping single "Superman (It's Not Easy)." The song struck a chord with listeners with its raw emotion and poignant lyrics, earning Five For Fighting a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance.


Since then, Five For Fighting has become synonymous with heartfelt and introspective music. Ondrasik's lyrics often touch on personal experiences, such as the loss of a loved one or the struggles of everyday life, making him relatable to many fans.


Throughout his career, Ondrasik has released hit after hit, including "100 Years," "The Riddle," and "Chances." He has also collaborated with other well-known artists, such as Kenny Loggins, Ringo Starr, and Sheryl Crow.





Despite his success, Ondrasik remains humble and passionate about his music. He often uses his platform to raise awareness and support various causes, including supporting the troops, mental health, and autism advocacy.
