Legendary Diana Ross, one of the most successful and popular Motown recording artist of all-time, performed Sunday night before a sold-out audience at the Hard Rock Event Center in Hollywood Florida.
Ross took to the stage wearing a red evening gown with a red boa cape and performed songs that span over 50 years and, with every song, the crowds appreciation was reflected in their boisterous applause.
Ross started the night with with the appropriate song “I’m Coming Out”. The song began to play before she came out, which made it perfect for her entrance. Ross was greeted with a standing ovation and a smile of appreciation appeared on her face. I must say that Ross is looking more buff and ageless as ever.
Bringing back memories of the 1960’s, Ross sang many of the hits that put her on the music map when she was the lead singer of The Supremes. “Baby Love”, Stop! In The Name Of Love”, “Where Did Our Love Go”?, “Come See About Me”, and “Back In My Arms Again” all received cheering ovations from the crowd. Ross continued to move throughout the decades with songs like “Touch Me In The Morning”, “Upside Down”, “Love Hangover” and many, many more.Her performance was a very short one. Just one hour and fifteen minutes total, which left the audience a little perplexed when Ross left the stage and did not return after a three-minute encore request and the house lights came on. I must say however, the level of her performance, along with the legendary history that is Diana Ross, made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who were seeing her for the first time.
To this day, Diana Ross continues to alter the face of music and impress upon the artists of a new generation.
