FINALLY BACK ON THE ROAD, AMBROSIA HAS NO PROBLEM PACKING THE HOUSE
Five-time Grammy nominated hit-makers Ambrosia wowed the attending audience at Gulfstream Parks Theater Of Kings venue with two extraordinary performances showcasing their greatest hits and few covers of their favorite artists.
Ambrosia started the evening with their first performance at 6:30 pm to a packed house. Note that the venue is not allowing full capacity as of yet and table seating is spread out to promote social distancing. Nonetheless, the floor plan made the performance feel very intimate and every seat felt like front row no matter where you were seated.
I attended the 9;30 pm performance and a little time with the band backstage. The spirits of the band members were very high and they were grateful to finally be back on the road and doing live performances again. After some conversation and photos, the band signed an acoustic guitar and band photos to benefit charity. It was now time to take the stage.
Ambrosia took to the stage and the crowd welcomed the band with a roar. Jim Williamson announced the band, where they rolled right into the fist song, “Nice, Nice, Very Nice”.
Ambrosia’s band members are Joe Puerta - Bass/Vocals, Burleigh Drummond - Drums/Vocals, Christopher North - Hammond B3/Keyboard, Doug Jackson - Guitar, Mary Harris - Keyboard/Vocals, & Kipp Lennon - Vocals.
The night went on to include the hits “Biggest Part Of Me”, How Much I Feel”, “Your The Only Woman”, and “Holdin’ On To Yesterday”. The band also threw in some great covers like “Magical Mystery Tour” by The Beatles, “ by The Animals, “ by Bruce Hornsby & The Range, and “” by Steppenwolf.
In addition to the fine performance by Ambrosia, it was also Joe Puerto's 70th birthday. Happy Birthday, Joe!!
